Company history

We are proud of 85 years tradition and experience in development, production and service of geology, geotechnics testing equipment. Our history began in 1934 year when the grandfather of current owner open his metal workshop.

It was one and only company in this business area that survived the II World War and in late 40's and 50's developed its workshop towards specialised production of high quality and robust soil testing equipment.

The founder of company Mr Jan Szkurłat was a talented inventor and designer of many copyrighted devices for the geology and geotechnics application.

His was at the same time the experienced craftsman that could manufacture at his workshop many unique tools, being the famous among academic staff of the most important technical universities in Poland and developing for them many "on demand" made devices.

In the year 1982 his son Waldemar Szkurłat started his practice in the workshop and office and in year 1997 he took over the company after the founder of company passed away.

The company boosted in late 90's and in the start of new age as the country economy condition changed and responded to development of new roads and infrastructure building in Poland.

In year 2004 with country EU accesion, the new challenges appeared.

The company continued its manufacturing tradition but also became the key trade partner for some top quality equipment from European Union.

The new era for company started in year 2007 with foundation of sister company GEOLAB that was focused on delivering the complex equipment solutions for top construction companies in Poland and the biggest geotechnical companies in Poland , approaching also the biggest material testing laboratories.

The new company was run by the grandson of the founder Mr Paweł Szkurłat.

The company expanded its activity with the export trade being very active in EU markets like Romania, England or Spain. Also it approached the Africa and Asia market.

The company was united in year 2021 under the one name GEOLAB and now is making its way in 3rd generation, being most recognized trusted partner for the soil testing equipment in Poland.
