Asphalt splitter

The asphalt splitter is designed to break and crumble bituminous samples at room-temperature, to make it suitable to perform tests for the determination of the apparent density with water, in compliance with EN 12967-5 standard.

A rough asphalt sample of approx. 1 kg is poured into the stainless steel bowl equipped, at its bottom, of three rotating paddles. The cover id closed, the machine started, and the three paddles break and crumble the sample in grains. The bowl is now tilted to dischange the sample into the self supporting suitable pan supplied with.
