Seismic Dilatometer (SDMT)
The Seismic Dilatometer (SDMT) is a probe for measuring the shear wave velocity Vs. The test provides accurate and repeatable results with a rapid, reliable and simple technology which does not require any geophysical background. The True Interval configuration is implemented with two sensors spaced 0.5 m. The electronic board provides very accurate AD signal conversion and uses digital data transmission. The high quality of the acquired seismograms enables real time shear wave velocity evaluation.
The Vs profiles are available up to the current test depth. Accelerometers monitor the inclination of the
SDMT probe during penetration.The SPDMT is an enhanced version of the Seismic Dilatometer containing two additional sensors for recording compression P waves.
The SDMT Standard (full) Monolithic Blade Set contains all the necessary components for dilatometer and seismic dilatometer testing (S-wave) down to over 50 m of soil depth. The equipment includes: two blades, one true interval seismic probe connected monolithically to a dummy cone tip, the latest edition of the Control Unit for automatic logging of DMT readings and for seismic data acquisition, pneumatic-electric cables, Membranes, Calibration Equipment, Seismic shear beam for S-wave generation, Auxiliary Components, Adaptors and Software. An adeguate set of spare parts is included for rapid replacement in case of damage and/or weariness.
The SDMT Startup set contains the minimum set of components for dilatometer testing and seismic dilatometer testing (S-wave) down to 30 m of soil depth: one true interval seismic probe connected monolithically to a DMT blade, the latest version of the dual gage Control Unit for automatic logging of DMT readings, two pneumatic-electric cables of 34 m, 5 Membranes and other components strictly necessary for test execution. This set is adequate for a few experimental tests, to gain initial confidence with the DMT equipment. The items for upgrading to a standard DMT set may be ordered later on. This DMT Startup set is not recommeded for professional use, where the limited amount of spare parts may cause interruption of the test campaign.
